Behold the power of Tesla

So I have played 3 games so far with the new Necrons, and I absolutely love the tesla rule.  If you have not been following the necrons, weapons with the tesla rule get 2 additional hits anytime they roll a 6 on the to-hit roll.  The weapon of choice being the Tesla Destructor 4 str 7 shots twinlinked.  This thing is awesome.  The platform of choice for fielding it is the Annihlation Barge.  At 90pts I think that it will be a staple of many necron armies.

The annihilation barge is a great all rounder.  It can threaten infantry, as well as light vehicles. It is AP- so you will have a -1 to your vehicle damage rolls, but I think the number of hits can help to offset this.  I think the best part of the tesla weapons is that they are not just the same old thing.  The rule is a new concept to help express the technological superiority of the Necrons.  I really like the idea of blasting my opponents with lightning.  What follows is a list I put together to play with the concept of maximizing the tesla destructor in the army list.

monolith

In a perfect world your overlords and scarabs deal with any really heavy vehicles.  Your tesla deal with light vehicles and infantry.  The monolith is there so that you can bring any troops ,that may have their transports killed, through its doorway.  Its pieplate isn't terrible either. the two solarpulses are there to help keep your very fragile fliers alive a little longer.  The three eldritch lances are not really there for aggressive use they are more of a backup.  5 man warrior squads will die quick, but I think that this list might do well in kill point missions.  In objective missions warriors will have to get out of their transports to capture since killing their ride sends them to reserve.
