6th ed. Countdown

So just a few more days until we mere mortals have our own copies of the new 40k rules.  I have no clue what armies I am interested in working on.  So I am keeping myself occupied with what has to be the biggest pain in the butt I have ever worked on. The Necron Ghost Ark.  With the paint scheme I am using I have to paint it as I assemble it and that really slows the whole thing down.  I figure that when I get totally sick of It I will go back to working on Minotaurs.

Myrmidon Champion

So I got off my butt, and finished the base for my Myrmidon Champion.  This is my first mini wearing the Minotaur shoulder pads.

I also assembled my "thunder bull" and I will post it once I get it painted.  Here are a few more pictures of my Myrmidon

Forgeworld order Arrived

Here all the shoulderpads and decals I ordered.  It was like christmas when I got home friday and saw the box sitting on the step.  I have never wanted to paint anything so bad in my life.  So I am going to try to finish one of my lone wolves and get it posted.

Painted Minotaurs

So I finally got my first 5 man squad almost fully painted.  There is a little detail work I want to do like highlight the red but for now I think I will try to get some more units painted.

I really dig these bases.  I will be adding some of the GW tufts of grass to finish the bases and give them that ancient ruins feel.  The next model I am working on is my Myrmidon Champion (counts as lone wolf).

I Return

So I have had a truly hectic schedule since before the holidays.  It now seems that I will have time to keep up with this blog.  So I have a new project.  One that I have been working on in the concept stage for awhile.  They are the Minotaurs chapter of space marines.

Behold the power of Tesla

So I have played 3 games so far with the new Necrons, and I absolutely love the tesla rule.  If you have not been following the necrons, weapons with the tesla rule get 2 additional hits anytime they roll a 6 on the to-hit roll.  The weapon of choice being the Tesla Destructor 4 str 7 shots twinlinked.  This thing is awesome.  The platform of choice for fielding it is the Annihlation Barge.  At 90pts I think that it will be a staple of many necron armies.

Awakening of Fringeworld Hutnesut

The weight of ages hung silent around Anrakyr as he gazed with unblinking eyes at the hololith before him.  The Necrons of this world were slowly reclaiming their world from the human trespassers.  There was one foe that could destroy all their work.  Anrakyr gazed at the icons representing an armored column belonging to the barbaric humans known as Space Wolves.  They were currently on a vector to strike deep into the necron lines.  "Prepare my legions for transport"  commanded Anrakyr in his sepulchral voice.

So this was my first game with the new Necron dex and I must admit I was very impressed with the firepower they can put out.  I built my force at 1500 as my local store has been running most of the tournaments at this level.
